ARRIVAL OF THE FELICIANA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. An unexpected arrival in the stream nt Wellington to-day was the big tramp steamer Feliciana (West Hartlepool), which put into port for bunker coal and Lloyd's survey. The vessel is in a had way, and to use the words of one of her officers, "I never expected her to reach here." The Feliciana is of 77< v ) tons burden, and is owned by the Weilknown Fiirness Une. of London. Nh<« was proceeding in ballast, from the Chilian port of Talcaliuano '<> Australia, but a succession of gales of hurricane force drove her far out of her courae. He.coal supply ran short, and to make matters worse lier machinery got out of order. As her propeller would not "take water," the after cargo hold was Hooded with water so as to weigh the vessel down and let the propeller get a grip on the water. The Feliciana is under the command of Captain F. R, < larke, R.X.1?., who is well known in New Zealand waters.
