THE JEWELLERY TRADE IN SYDNEY. By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright Received 3, 9.40 p.m. Sydney, July 3. Giving evidence before the Labor Commission, Mr. Coote, a manufacturing jeweller, stated that he had turned down £IOOO of orders weekly, owing to inability to obtain sufficient, labor. He recently sent an order to England for forty men. The demand for engagement .and wedding rings, he added, was very brisk at present.
