THE ROSAMOND. The Rosamond arrived on Saturday morning from Onehunga and loaded 54:) boxes of butter, and an oil launch and sailed later for Wellington. • THE ALEXANDER. The Alexander (Anchor Line) arrived yesterday from Westport with 200 tons of coal. She discharges her cargo to-day. THE KIM'U. The Kimu, which had been sheltering in port, sailed for Opunake and Wangu- 1 tmi about midnight on Friday and worked Opunake on Saturday, sailing afterwards for Wanganui. COSTLY FUEL. The steamer Putiki arrived at fireymo\itli last Monday, and subsequently left for Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington, after a very stormy trip. She arrived off-Westport the precious Tuesday, and remained off the bar till Thursday. Her coal had by this lime been reduced to iy< tons, and in order to get back to Nelson all the wooden fittings and the wood off the after hatch had to be burned for fuel. Nelson was reached in safety, after £SO worth of fittings hadbeen burned, and when the weather had moderated, and a supply of coal had been taken on board, a iresh start was made.
