FRED STEPHEN'S BENEFIT. Tickets are reported to be selling well for the benefit entertainment which is to be given in ,the Theatre Royal by the Taylor-C'ariington Musical Comedy Company next Friday night, July 7. The Press speak very highly of the performances given "by the company, and those who attend' will enjoy a good night's amusement, besides helping a really worthy cause. The box plan will be opened next Wednesday morning. ROVAL PICTURES & ORCHESTRA. A private view of the Royal Pictures which are to be shown for the first lime in New Plymouth this evening took place in the Theatre Royal last evening. Judging by the excellence of the films it. may safely be predicted that the Royal Pictures will win popularity from vneir inception. Jt is interesting to know that the management of tins enterprise is composed of two members of J. C. Williamson's managerial stall', who nave set out with the determination to show the public the very best pictures ohtainahle from the leading manufacturers of the world. The pictures to be screened to-night are all new to New Plymouth, and quality and variety are combined in them in pleasing manner. An entire absence of flicker, evidently the result of the new lighting plant, and the latest Caumont machine, and the, fact that each subject is seen with perfect clearness and definition, enable the onlooker to enjoy every moment of tho entertainment. A special feature of the entertainment is the charming musie rendered by a splendid orchestra of seven of our best musicians, under tho leadership of Mrs. Woods. Tho stal film of the programme is a magnificent colored historical play, entitled Boniface VIIL, by Pathe Frer'cs. The box piano for this programme of three nights aro now on view at Hoffmann's,
