TIMARU HARBOR BOARD. By TeJegraph.—rress Association. Timaru, Last Night. The Harbor Board offered £OOO per acre for ten and a half acres of land reclaimed by the harbor works and required for railway yards purposes. This was accepted, subject to certain conditions of access to the foreshore from existing streets. The Board's quarrymen Applied for an increase of wages from 8s to ()s a day. On the recommendation nf the engineer the Hoard increased the wages for laborers from 8s to 8s fid per day, and quarrymen to lis. The lishcrmen of Timaru, who now use n score or so of motor boats, applied to the Harbor Board for a special wharf for landing fish. The engineer recommended one to cost, with a crane and trolley-rails, £4BO. The Board postponed its decision to enquire whether the Railway Department will grant a siding for a fish truck to the proposed wharf. HEAVY WEATHER. Oisliorne, Last Night. There is a break in the stormy wet weather that has prevailed for the last few days. Heavy seas have prevailed along the. coast. The small coastal steamer Fanny has been in port three days, and despite two attempts to get away for Xapier. on each occasion she has been compelled to return. To-day she got into the bay from the river, but heavy seas broke over her and put out her galley fire, and shifted her deck hamper. The vessel returned to port. The weather to-night shows some signs of moderating.
