i, NOLAN" & CO.'S REPORT. Poultry.—We had our usual good en- * try, the" pens being well filled. There were, several pens of purebred birds, < which realised high prices. The demand- - ! for ordinary poultry was better and I juices consequently .showed an improve- . ment. We quote: Hens, fat Is 8d to 2s j l>U, others Is 4d to Is Bd, cockerels Is 10d to 3s, roosters Is 7d to 2s 3d, pul- ' lets In Hid to 2s 10d, turkey bens 3s fid to 3s, ducks Is Id to 2s 3d. Purebred nens, White Leghorns 2s (id to 3s Ud, pul- ' lets as Od to 8s 3d, cockerels fls to IDs 3d, black Orpington cockerel 4s (id, brown Leghorn 4s lid, white Wyandotte 4s (Id. Fruit—During the past week Fiji bananas arrived to a good market. We quote: Bananas, green !)s lid to His lid. oranges (re-]Kick.s) 8s to Ids; apples, Sturmers Ss 3d to 9s (id, dessert 7,s fid to 8s 9d, cookers 6s (Hi to 7s 3d; lemons 8s Od. At the Brougham-street Hall on Wednesday we held a sale on account of Mr. S. W. Howard. The furniture being good commanded the attention of buyers, and prices consequently were very satisfactory to the vendor. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday we had a large entry of ail classes of poultry, prices showing an advance on the previous week. Ducks and laying hens were in good demand. We quote as follows:—Hens, Is 5d to 2-; laying do., 2s to 2s 6d; cockerels, young, 8d to Is Id; oOhers, Is 7d to 2s 2d; ducks, 2s to 2s 4d; drakes, Is 9d to 2s Id; pullets, Is 9d to 2s fid; young do., Is 5d to Is 9d; p.b. White Leghorn cockerels, 5s to 6s; chicks, 4d to lOd; rabbits, Is 6d pair. Pure-bred Painter puppies realised 12s to 12s fid; do bitch. £1 Ss. Furniture.—ln the mart on Saturday we held a clearing sale on account of a lady leaving the district, and satisfactory prices were obtained. Fruit.—This has been in very fair supply during the week on account of the Fiji steamer arriving with a largo cargo of bananas, and the fruit arriving in good condition met with a ready market. We quote:—Apples, Sturmers. . 8s fid to 9s fid; Etowahs, 9s; cookers, 6s 3d to 7s; red apples, 7s fid to 8s; bananas, best quality, green, lis to lis Od; other, 9s Od to 10s; ripe, 2d to 2V 4 d lb.; oranges, originals, 9s to 10s; repacks, 10s to 13s; passions, 6s to 6s 0d; pineapples, 9s to 10s 6d; mandarins, 9s 6d to lis 6d; peanuts, 2'/ 4 d lb.; An Island orange boat is due on Monday next witlh a large cargo of oranges and I bananas. j
