The little "Te Kawau" is showing herself a smart, proposition, doing the trip from Waitara to Tonga poruhi and baek again with a full load each way in seven hours. -At a meeting of the newly-formed Opera he Society on Wednesday' evening Mr. Wingate was appointed conductor It ij proposed to put on "Le Cloches de Cornville" during Xovemher. The fir*t. rehearsal takes place next Wednesday evening. J
