RACING COMMISSION.
' PAHTATUA'S PROTEST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Pahiatua, Wednesday. A meeting of the Pahiatua Racing Club was held last night to consider tie recommendation of the Racing Commission that no totalisator license l>e issued to Pahiatua. Strong protests are being made by members of the club at Pahiatua being deprived of its meeting, while smaller centres are allowed to retain theirs. The fact on which stress is laid is that the club possesses one of the best and safest freehold courses in New Zealand, and that a lot of money has been spent on it. The meeting resolved to confer with the Woodville Club, with which Pahiatua was recommended to coalesce, to see if an arrangement could be made to hold one meeting a year at Pahiatua and one at Woodville.
