Association received one liundred and eleven applications .for its secretaryship. After three days' sitting, the finance committee reduced the applicants to three, one each in Auckland, ChristehiiTch, and Oainani. Owing to the refusal of the Sheffield Choir management to bring the orchestra here, the Holiday Association rescinded the holiday. The local Sheffield Choir executive represented by telegraph last night that failure to bring the orchestra would prejudically affect the receipts, and Dr. liarriss telegraphed (hat the orchestra would come with the choir. The Holiday Association has now grained a half-holiday. An egg circle was formed here to-night at a largely attended meeting of poultry men.
