AUSTRALIAN MILITARY COLLEGE
OPENED BY GOVERNOR-GENERAL. WELCOMES NEW ZEALANDEIIS. By Cable —Pr«is Association—Copyright Received 28, 1-2.55 a.m. Sydney, June 27. Lord Dudley, Governor-General, opened the Military College, which is situated at the Duntroon Homestead in the Federal capital area. He declared the adoption of compulsory service in Australia and New Zealand was a testimony to the determination of the inhabitants of both countries to place themselves in a position of effective defence. Welcoming the New Zealand cadets, Lord Dudley said that all were glad the Dominion joined Australia in this undertaking, and hoped that Australian and New Zealand cadets would make a firm friendship that would lead to a closer bond between the two countries which stood sentinels for the Empire in southern seas. They wanted Australia and New Zealand to co-operate in all affairs appertaining to these seas.
