DISTRICT NEWS.

KAIMIRO. (From Our Own Correspondent). Our factory manager (Mr. A. J. Taylor) has gone on a fortnight's holiday. A quiet wedding took place last Wednesday, Mr. F. W. Irvine and Miss M. Gibson, of Egmont road, being the contracting parties. The presents were of a very useful nature. Amongst thorn was a case of pipes from his mates at the Egmont Road Sawmill. Our Postmaster (Hr. Henry Peters/ met with a nasty accident last Wednesday. He was helping to put up the gate in the local hall, when his foot slipped in a hole, breaking the small hone in h ; s leg. We alt hope he will soon bo, about again. A cribbagn match was played last Tuesday night between Egmont Village and Kaimiro. After n good game Egmont Village won by 29 to 24, Better luck next time, boys. A basket social was held last Thursday night. Owing to the rough night there was not a very large crowd, but I think all enjoyed themselves. Baskets brought from 2s 3d to ss. Miss D. Gofferth's basket brought the highest price. Goon music was provided by Mrs. T. Gofi'orth and Mr. F. Sclucker.

The school broke up on Friday for a week's holiday. All the children got their Coronation medals on Thursday last. WARcA. (From Our Own Correspondent). The annual general meeting of the Warea Hal! Committee was held in the ball on Saturday night. Mr. T. Julian (sen.) presided.' A Hearty vote of thanks was accorded the secretary for bis services. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. W. lievell for the way 111 which he had work and canvassed for the bazaar, and a vote of thanks was passed to the ladies' bazaar committee for the way in which they had worked to make'the bazaar such a success Mr. W. Runilmll will he asked to audit the bazaar books. Mr. If. Corbett proposed that the present committee carry on the business of the hall until arrangements are made for electing a general committee. Mr. Julian, son., was elected chairman for the time being, until the new committee is elected. Mr. l'elhnm was re-elected lion, secretary.

The second competition for Mr. V. M. Grayling's trophy was tired for at the rille range on Saturday last. The day was fairly tire, but a terrific gale blew from the south-west, and very poor snooting resulted. Mr. W. B. Suiith secured a leg in. A meeting of householders was hold in the schoolroom on Monday night. The following committee was elected: Messrs. F. Julian (sen.), W. H. Julian, G. P. Jones. F. Tolrin, O. W. Corbett. .1. Halpin and T. R. Julian. Mr. C. W. Corbett was elected .secretary.
