WORK OF THE COMMISSIONERS. ij Tdegrapa.—Prew Association, Wellington. Last Night, Within a, few days the Census Office will hand over to the Electoral Department full particulars of the population of New Zealand, showing its distribution in the various electorates and districts covered by the sub-enumerators. These particulars are in due course referred to the Lands and Survey Department, which will prepare a large map setting them out in form easy for reference, with due regard to natural features of country. The next step is the calling together of representation commissions, one for each island. They will be constituted as follows: Xorth Island. -- Unofficial members, Messrs. W. H. Quick and 11. S. Wardell; official members, Messrs. ,1. Rtrauchon (Surveyor-General), wko will he chairman), E. C. Goldsmith (Chief Surveyor, Auckland), and William Armstrong (Chief Surveyor, Taranaki). South Island. Unofficial members, Messrs. C. S. Reeves and T..S. Weston; official members, Messrs, T. X. Rrodrick (Chief Surveyor, Christehurch), E. it . Wilmot (Chief Surveyor, Otago), and G. H. McClure (Chief' Surveyor, Westland). The commission will probably be called together during the second week in July.
