At the inquest on the bcHlics of Mi Russell and Miss Ford, the victims < the Fitzroy tragedy, a verdict %as r turned that Mrs. Russell administerc poison to her sister and took some he self. There was no evidence to sho the Btatc of her mind. Mrsv Russell committed suicide n Fitzroy after she has poisoned her sistei a dipsomaniac. She had attempted su : cide two years ago by throwing hersel into the river Yarra, but was rescued She then promised not to attempt sui cide again unless she was sure her sistc would not suffer in consequence. Shi knew she was not always able to con quer the impulse to self-destruction, am felt that her sister, alone, was unabli to lift herself from the debasement int< which Bhe was falling.
