At the King's reception of foreign flag officers'at Portsmouth, he exchanged greetings in several languages, dispensing with interpreters.

The King gave a banquet to two hundred British and foreign officers on board the Royal yacht. Their Majesties and their children afterwards witnessed the illuminated fleets from the semaphore tower, from which there was a magnificent panoramic view of the Solent, and the fleet presented a superb spectable. Tbe King inspected 150 naval and military veterans at Portsmouth. He spoke a few words to each. Nelson's ship Victory, the premier flagship of the navy, commenced the salute when the Royal Standard was hoisted aboard the King's yoeht, and the rest of the fleet then followed. The ages of 419 guests at the Coronation dinner at Guildford totalled 32,000 years. The Metropolitan Railway rarricd a million passengers, the District Railway 1,400,000, and the other tubes 1.950,000 on Thursday and Friday. Princess Henry of Battenberg handed Mr. McGowen a flag subscribed for by Islington school children in exchange for a New South Wales flag. The Children's Coronation Pete is to be held at the Alexandra Palace on Monday. Special Coronation services and sermons' throughout the country were attended by mayors, municipal authorities, and local territorials. MESSAGE FROM QUEEN ALEXANDRA. Ottawa, June 25. Queen Alexandra, in reply to a messige cabled bv Earl Grey, GovernorGeneral of Canada, said:—"Please received my deep-felt thanks for the kind words and thoughts for me during the sacred ceremony for my dear son and daughter-in-law. Thank God all went off well.'"
