An Italian timber getter nrnied .Moffati was found wandering in the bush in a demented condition. He stated that he had killed two of his companions, a fellow countryman named Vanni and a German whose name he did not know. A visit to Moffati's camp discovered Vanni and the German dead with terrible wounds, apparently made by an axe. Moffati was very violent when he was arrested.
