TARANAKI HUNT CLUB.

MEET AT SENTRY TTTr.T,, Yesterday the Taranaki Hunt Club met at Mr. Sampson's, Sentry Hill. Despite the unfavorable weather, there was a fair muster, not only of followers of the hunt, but of spectators. The rain interfered considerably with the sport, making the scent difficult to pick up. Nevertheless, there were gome good runs and two kills resulted. There were several spills owing to the wet and slippery nature of the ground, but none were serious. Cons'.lerable country was covered, all flip fences that had been sparred being t tken, and others besides. It was at the latter that most of the spills occurred. The members of the club were most hospitably entertained to afternoon tea at tho v homestead by Mr. and Mrs. Sampson, Mr. A. H. Halcombe, on behalf of the club, returning thanks. • Amongst those present were: Messrs. A. H. Hakom.be (master) on Flying Scotchman, B. H. Chaney (deputymaster) on Drudgery, H. Matthews (deputy-master) on Star Rose and Rua, A. Cliff (huntsman) on Kiri, E. Julian (whip) on Renadeau, A. R. Standish s > George on The Nigger, E. George on Rawhinia, U George on Red Hazard, C. fitoekman on Keiahau, Stockman on Wlleawake, G. Stockman on Mungo Park, T. Fepperell on a bay, and others.
