MINING.
proprietary, ltd. The following is a copy of the mine manager's report for the fortnight ending June 17, 1011: — Gordon.—Although we are meeting with a tight class of country again, very satisfactory progress has 'been made with the low level crosscut in this section, i]t having been advanced 47 feet during the past fortnight. According to the plan, this level will have to be advanced a further distance of 213 feet to reach Corliett's lode. I would like to mention that the Silverstream Company have commenced sinking operations upon the down strike of the Corbett's lode. The winze has been carried to a depth of 10ft below-the floor or the level, and I am pleased to say some rich telluride ore is showing. There is also a great improvement in the ore.won from the Julia reef. At the last breaking-down of that quartz body it showed very high-class telluride stone for a distance of 15ft in the level. In my opinion, this augurs very well for this section of your property, as the ore bodies referred to will be met with in tne Gordon level 70ft below their present ]K)int of operations, and in close proximity to your boundary line. The whole of the machinery is working very satis/aetorily. | Volunteer.—There is no change in the nature of the country in this section. The level has been extended a distance of 12ft, making a total distance of 127 ft from the, starting point.
