UTILITY POULTRY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmers ton N., Last Night. A North Island Utility Poultry Association was formed this evening. Messrs. G. Finn, D. Inman Todd, and A. Mumby were appointed a committee to further the movement and report later. Mr. F. Brown, poultry expert, who judged the poultry at the National Dairy Show, states that the utility men competing in the poultry section at the show were disappointed at the results. They understood birds were to be judged purely on utility standards, but as the show was held under « icense of the North Island Association, birds were judged on the English standard. Consequently the utility birds were passed over. THEJFTS FROM A RAILWAY STATION. _ Auckland, Wednesday. Complaints have frequently been made of thefts from the railway station at Paeroa, and to-dny- t wo en »i ne . cleaners, both about r'ueteen years old, were arrested. They were charged at the Paeroa Police Court and remanded for a week. A quantity of the missing property has been recovered.

NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN. Auckland, Wednesday. A proposal to hold an aviation carnival in Auckland next January i« •ng considered by the Aero Club of New Zealand. The club has been in communication with several of the leading Aero Clubs in different parte ,•« ) vo , d ' . Wltll a v 'ew to inducing certificated aviators to compete at the proposed carnival. It is stated that by next January some New Zealand aviators will have returned from Enff* land, where they are at present quaflfying for pilot certificates. Already several prominent citizens have expressed their willingness to contribute to the prize fund.
