. ' SUMMARY AND FORBCAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast: — The barometer has fallen very low, especially in the southern districts. High northerly and westerly winds and squally and showery weather have prevailed, with rivers flooded on the West Coast. Present indications are for westerly winds, strong to a heavy gale, and veering to southerly shortly; cold and stormy weather probably. Heavy rain in most parts of the country, with snow in the south and on high levels. The barometer will probajbly rise fast everywhere after about ten to sixteen hoars.
