Th« Meteorological Office ha« issiied the following summary and forecast:— The barometer has been unsteady, hut has fallen everywhere to-day.'• Strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, with cloudy and misty weather, and with rain in the South Island. Pregent indications are lor stormy weather generally, high northerly and westerly winds and rain in most .parts of the country and rivers rising. The barometer will probably fall everywhere.
