CORONATION TOURNAMENT. Splendid entries have been received for the various competitions at the tournament which i 9 to be held on Thursday next (Coronation Day) under the auspices of the Taranaki Hockey Association, and a capital aftemoon'i sport should result. The contestants comprise clubs from North and South Taranaki, and also from the Western Sub-Union. Prizes to the value of £2O will be competed for. The drawing for the first round resulted as follows .—Hawera v. Eltham; Otakeho v. Kaponga; Whakatika A. t. Inglewood; Whakatika B, a bye. Seven teams have also entered for the ladies' relay race of 525 yards. The men's tournament has drawn 16 teams, viz., New Plymouth (flvo teams), Tataramaika (2), Hawera (2), Inirlewood (2), Stratford (2), Eltham, Waitara and lhaia. The draw for the first round resulted: New Plymouth B v Tataramaika B; lhaia v. Waitara- Hawera A v. Inglewood A; New Plymouth D v. Tataramaika A; Hawera B v Eltham; Stratford A v. New Plymouth C; Stratford A v. New Plymouth E; New Plymouth A v. Inglewood B, Ten teams arc also competing in the mens 500 yards relay race, whilst 40 players will compete for the 100 yards hockey championship of Taranaki. rne tournament will commence at UO pm., and arrangements have been made for a band to be present to supply a musical programme. It is understood that two matches will eventuate simultaneously, nevertheless the committee will have to keep things moving lively if the above lengthy programme is to be earned through during the afternoon
