IMPROVEMENT SCHEMES. ' i PI By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The Wanganui Harbor Board to-night received from Mr. Leslie Reynolds, consulting engineer, his report on the harbor schemes. The estimate provides far a depth at the entrance of 24 or 25ft. at low water, equal to 32 or 33ft, at high water. This depth is to be obtained by extension of the moleß. The estimate also provides for a floating basin of 25 acres at Castlccliff, dredged to a depth of 30ft. at low water. The basis is to be enclosed by a wall, the total area which provides' for future developments being 38 acres. An un-to-date dredge is also provided for. The total estimate for this work is £IBB,IOO. The report deals with the deepening of the channel to a depth of 17ft. Mr. Reynolds was also asked to report on the project of making a floating basin at the town instead of at Castleclifl) and his estimated is £417,470, which means that this scheme will not be considered any further.
