THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Tetegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— Southerly gales were experienced in many parts of the Dominion during Wednesday night, but the winds have decreased to-day. Rain fell during the night and frosts in other parts, and the weather has been cold generally, but conditions have improved to-day. The barometer rose during the night, but has remained steady to-day. Present indications are for cool and changeable weather, mist and showers at times in various parts of the country, though improved conditions generally; variable winds, but moderate to strong southerly winds predominating, and a rising tendency in the barometer.
