SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is .the Government Meteorologist's weather summary and forecast: The cyclone which is now passing northward of the Bay of Plenty accounts for the gloomy and showery weather, especially in the north, and for the southerly .winds, strong, to gale, generally. The barometer has risen everywhere. Present' indications are for south-easterly -and southerly winds, strong to a heavy gale, and cold weather in most parts of the country. Rain is probable generally, heavy rain with rivers flooded on east coast, especially of North island, and snow on the higher levels in the south. The barometer will probably rise fast everywhere and high pressure succeed.
