THE COAL VEND CASE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 12. 9.10 p.m. Sydney, June 12. At tha hearing of the coal vend case evidence was given dealing with railway commissioner contracts, the object being to show thfit they had little bearingon the raising of the price of coal. Further evidence was given regarding the Kethel mine operations during the strike, little fresh information being disclosed. UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE. Received 12. 11.30 p.m. Adelaide, June 12. The Melbourne crew won the University boat race by three-quarters of a length. Sydney was second, and Adelaide third.
