SUPREME COURT.
NELSON SITTINGS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. The Supreme Court opened to-duy before Mr. Justice Chapman. There was only one criminal case, a man named Edwin Arnokl being indicted with having unlawful carnal knowledge of an imbecile woman. Accused was found guilty and sentenced to two years' imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal. In the case Katherine Cross v. Ivanlioe McFarlanc, lioth of Motueka, a claim for £IOO for slander, no defence was filed. His Honor gave judgment for plaintiff for £75.
