The present price at the kilns U 38». The Minister of Works (Mr. Griffith) proposes to establish a thoroughly equipped Government building yard. He is experiencing difficulty at securing a suitable manager at the salary offered, £IOOO per annum. He approached a number of the leading builders, who stated that they were making .£3OOO or £4OOO annually.
