PRINCE OF WALES.

RECEIVES' ORDER OF GARTER. AN IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 12, 12.20 a.m. London, June 11. The ceremony of investing the Prince of Wales with the Order of the Garter took place yesterday. The Knights and officers of the Order assembled in the Waterloo Chamber, and from thence were summoned to the Throne Room, where King George, Queen Mary, ex-King Manuel, the Duke of Connaught, Prince Arthur of Connaught, and the Prince Chris tian were seated at the head of the table.

The scene was one of great beauty, nnd interest. The Duke of Connaught and Prince Arthur led in the Prince of Wales, when the King proceeded to buckle on tlie Garter. The Prelate pronounced the customary admonition, and the King having invested the Prince with the insignia of the Order, gave him the neeolade. Other Knights of the Order present congratulated the Prinee, who bore himself during the trying ordeal with dignity. A procession to St. George's Chapel followed. The Duke of Argyll and Lord Esher led the military Knights of Windsor. Twenty-three Knight Companions, heralds and officers of the King's household moved in stately fashion between a double line of Lifeguards and Coldstream Guards. Windsor Castle was crowded with spectators to wjtness a pageant sucFTas had not been seen since the time of Charles 11. The Royal Knights accompanied the Prince, and four train-bearers, clad in scarlet, held the robes of the King and Queen, who walked hand in hand, Queen Mary wearing the insignia presented by the Maries of the Empire.
