A BIG ESTATE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The estate of the late Mr. D. L. Murdoch will, it is expected, realise about £BO,OOO. In his will Mr. Murdoch bequeathed £IOOO to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, Auckland, and the balance to connections in Scotland. The private bequests having been made to connections and not to first blood relatives, the death duties in the estate will be heavy, arid it is stated that the amount which will have to be paid into the New Zealand Consolidated Fund on this account will be about £20,000.

A TRAMWAYMAN'S APPEAL. Wellington, Last Night. Judgment in John Kcirnandcr's case, tho first case heard by the Tramway Appeal Board, set up under the legislation of last session, has been delivered. No definite charge of theft was sustained against Kiernander arid tho appeal was allowed. In so far as the charge of the theft of twopence was concerned, the Board felt that there had been neglect of duty by Kiernander in not issuing tickets to passengers when he received their fares. The Board recommended disrating him from promotion for a term of six months.

THE SHEFFIELD CHOIR. Palmerston N., Last N,ight. Some (iOO 10s scats were allotted this afternoon for the Sheffield Choir matinee here on June 30. Applications were received from New Plymouth to Napier, and the seats were ballotted for in blocks for each town. The plan, which provides 1000 10s seats and a largo number at .is in the big hall on the show ground, will now be opened to the public.

CORONATION CELEBRATIONS. Palmerston N., Last Night. Coronation Day celebrations here will comprise a parade of territorials, cadets, scouts, etc., in the Square, with the local bands. They will be addressed from tho rotunda by the Mayor, the member for the district and clergymen, singing by school children, prayer and Benediction in the forenoon. Thfe Overseas Club and Navy League give a patriotic concert in tho Municipal Opera House in the evening, for which 250 school children are trained as a choir.
