THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather summary and forecast are as follows:—The centre of a cyclone of small intensity has passed over Cook Strait, and apparently modified the front of the Antarctic disturbance now due from the westward. "The aspect, however, is still ominous. A southerly storm will probably follow in about 36 hours. This is likely to be preceded by a smart fall in the barometer in the south. The present indications are for a falling barometer eveiywhere, strong northerly and westerly winds, with unsettled weather, but a decided change is expected before Monday. A southerly gale, with cold and stormy weather generally, may be expected, with rain and snow on high lands in the south, with a rapidly rising barometer. '
