We offered, on account of M. liroderick, Pukcngahu, who has sold his place, 50 head of cattle without reserve. The cattle were of good quality, and met with keen competition from sundry buyers, his 20-
month steers making 745, two-year heifers iu calf up to (ißs, while his empty heifers, of good quality, made 82s, and 2/2'/.-year steers, a very nice line, to Oils, and :i/.'i'/o-year steers were keenly competed for and realised 12s Cd per head.' We also offered, on account of Ed. Revel I, late of Elllmm, and now of Tauranga. who has sold his Tarata properly, SI head of heifers in calf, which were all sold at the hammer at satisfactory prices. A Kohuratahi client yarded .some very nice ewes, which looked remarkably well after the long drive in, and though sheep were considered to be rather dull selling at the present time we managed to clear his 4-tooih ewes at 13s, and his four-year-old ewes at (is 2d. During the week we placed several herds of dairy cows at up to £7 10s. Our next sale will he held on Tuesday, 20th inst.. and we hope clients will yard weaners. as we have an unsatisfied demand for weaners of good quality.

LONDON PRODUCE MARKET. • Messrs. E. Griffiths and Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs. Mills and Sparrow, dated April 28:— Coo] showery weather has been experienced during the week, and the rain will lie beneficial to the country, which is verv backward.
Danish. —Trade has been very quiet, and arrivals not cleared. The quotation, therefore, has been reduced 4 kroner, which should have the effect of increasing the demand. Siberian. —This week's arrivals are not quite as large as last, but they have met with a good demand. The quality continues very fine, and these butters are undoubtedly the best value on the market when compared with other sorts. Australian. —There have been no arrivals this week, but as some of the vessels which arrived last week did not complete discharging until Monday or Tuesday last, there has been quite sufficient butter on the market to meet the demand, which has been quiet. Buyers are only operating from hand to mouth, with the object of getting prices down a little, but we do not think they will be successful in this, as the Home and Continental supply is considerably behind hand, and as the consumptios all over the. country is very good, we think i that there will be sufficient, demand to | absorb the arrivals as they come along.] There arc quite a few steamers due next week, and we certainly are looking forward to a good demand. New Zealand.—The market is practically cleared, with the exception of a few lots of doubtful finality, for which there is little or no demand. The s.s. Tonsrariro, which has been considerably delayed. has not yet come to hand, but is expected to dock to-morrow. It is reported that, she met with an accident, the nature of which, however, we do not know, so it is impossible to say, at the moment, whether her cargo will, arrive in good order.
CHEESE. Canadian.—Trade has boon quiet, but prices are practically unchanged. Xow Zealand.—There has been quite a lull in the demand, and some cellers, who are over anxious to clear, are forcing the cheese out at less money. We, cannot help thinking this is a great pity, us, although some cheese has been imported from the United States, the total does not, amount to much, and is not suflieienfc to change the position, which seems to us as strong as ever. The cheese which landed this week per s.s. Mamari has not arrived in the usual good order, and this has also helped the weak sellers, as some of these cheeses have not, been up to the best standard of quality. Frozen Pork. —Trade has been of a viVv fair character this week, buyers generally contenting themselves with securing just enough for their immediate j wants. *
