The late Mr. Geo. Boulton was born in Lancashire sixty-four years ago, coming to the Dominion in 18(1!) in the ship Halcione. He settled at Xew Plymouth, and was for twenty years with the late Mr. Mitchinson, nurseryman, afterwards starting the business in Devon street which he conducted up to the time of his demise. He leaves a widow and a family of nine, five boys and four girls, live of whom are married. Tho funeral takes place this afternoon at -2.30.

It is probable that there will soon bo another vacancy to be filled in the ranks of the Anglican episcopate in Xew Zealand. The Bishop of Xelson (Dr. Mules) is at present confined to his bed in Woodvillc with an attack of lumbago, and it is rumored that he will resign his Wshoprie at an earlv date. Some time ago it was understood that l)r. Mules, who is how 74 years of a»e, intended to retire, but was waiting until the new Bishops 0/ Auckland and Wellington had been appointed. On Wcdncsdav night, the Scoutmasters and boys of the local battalion of Boy Scouts, presented Mr. M. Rudd, who will leave Xew Plvmouth on Monday, with a handsome silver-mounted and inscribed walking-s-tick. as a mark of their appreciation of the services he has rendered as inspector to the battalion. The presentation was made bv Scoutmaster Sullivan. Mr. Kndd's son. who is a sergeant in the Scouts, was presented by his comrades with a beautifully bound copy of Wordsworth's poems, this presentation being made bv Scoutmaster McTsaac.
