WELLINGTON'S NEW BISHOP
THE INSTALLATION SERVICE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. This evening the Rev. T. H. Sprott, the newly-consecrated Bishop of Wellington, was installed at devotional service in St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral. Archdeacon Fancnurt, on behalf of the chinch, endowed mm with all the authorities, rights and obligations, and handed him the pastoral staff of office. Bishop Sprott then preached from the text, "Love the Brotherhood," and expressed ueep gratitude for many expressions of goodwill he had received. He would do his work bravely and honestly to the best of his ability. He thought they should pursue and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood in order to try to stay the large drifting away from Christianity that was now so noticeable. People were not loosening their hold on the Christian ideal because of conviction, but simply because of an unconscious yielding to the influences of social surroundings, which were antagonistic to Christianity,
