AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. London, June 2. In the golf final Hilton beat Lassen by 4 up and 3 to play. [Lassen won the championship in 1908.] HAWERA v. NGAMOTU. The Hawcra Golf Club sent a team of ladies to New Plymouth on Friday to play the Ngamotu Club, the local play> ers winning evciy game. The following arc the results:— Miss Stephenson beat Mrs. McLean. Miss Brewster beat Mrs. Bell. Mrs. Johns beat Miss Glenn. Miss Read bent Mrs. Kimbell. Miss Bewley beat Mrs. Campbell. THE NGAMOTU CLUB. On Tuesday the ladies of the Ngamotu Club played for the Edmonds medal, the following being the five best scores:— Gross. Hep. Net. Miss Brewster 100 10 84 Mrs. Gunson 118 29 89 Miss Stephenson .... 97 (! 91 Mrs. Johns 115 22 93 Miss McKellar 130 27 93 On Saturday the final round of the Ngamotu trophy was played, when, owing to the high wind blowing across the links, the scores put in were not up to the usual standard.
