Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Osborne, the former having resigned his position as minister of the Presbyterian Church. Particulars of the func-1 tion and the presentations have already been published. Kitchen Tea.—Mrs. Rallo, in honor of Miss Penn, who is shortly to be married to Mr. F. Honan, gave a'most enjoyable "kitchen tea" at the Kia Ora tea-rooms last Thursday afternoon. The unwrapping of the mysterious-looking parcels gave a keen interest to the faces of the guests, and very often producing peals of merriment. Afternoon Ton.—Mrs. G. Kubbell gave a most enjoyable afternoon tea in honor of Hiss Pcnn yesterday (Friday) afteru»on. and tlie competition prizes were won by Misses F. Evans and C. Bayly. (Iramaphone selections were rendered during the afternoon. Delicious afternoon tea was served in the dining-room. Mrs. Kcbbel was robed in a dainty amethyst-colored taffeta, veiled in the same tone of silk fisher net, edged with a narrow niching; Mus Penn, green tweed costume, burnt-straw hat, with cherries; Miss Avery, cream costums, black feathered hat.'
