DERBY DAY.
AUSTRALIAN PREMIER'S IMPRESSIONS. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright London, June 1. Mr. Fisher, interviewed as to his impressions of the Epsom Derby meeting, said that, despite the bustle and stir on the road, there was an accompanied orderliness which must have appeared strange to many Australians. The moral tone of the throng on the course was all that could be desired, and that fine institution, the London police, was almost superllHous in such well-behaved surroundings. Five Welshmen returning from the Derby slept in the same room in a small London hotel. One hung his coat on a gas-tap, supposing it to be a hook. The men narrowly escaped suffocation from the escape of gas. They were carried to a hospital and recovered.
