THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Frees Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Government Meteorologist's weather summary and forecast: —A westerly area of low pressure has prevailed and the barometer has fallen low in the south. Strong westerly winds have been recorded, with rain in many parts, especially on the West Coast. Cloudy and misty weather has •been experienced in the northern dis•ticts and on the East Coast of the South Island. Present indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, veering to southerly everywhere. Rain and colder weather is probable generally and snow on the higher levels in the South. The barometer is due to rise everywhere soon. Rough weather is probable in Cook and Foveaux Straits and heavy seas on the West Coast.
