ANNUAL MEETING. The New Plymouth Investment and Loan Society, Ltd., held its 'thirty-fifth annual meeting 011 Monday evening, .there being present: Messrs. W. I'.. Brooking (in the chair), S. Teed, G. T. Mills, T. Furlong, W. C. Weston and C. T. Rundle (directors), R. ('. Hughes, C. F. Foote, C. IT. Weston. F. C. .1. Bellringer, J. S, McTCellar, and C. S. Kennel) (secretary). An apology of absence was received from Mr. Connett. The annual report was as follows: In presenting the thirty-fifth annual report and balance-sheet to the shareholders, the directors have again the pleasure, to point out the prosperous state of the society. The directors, however, ask all members • to make known the advantages of borrowing from the society 011 the easy terms at I present offering. The usual examination of the securities has been made by the directors, and in each case they appear to be very satisfactory, '['he retiring directors are Messrs. J. B. Connett and C. T. Rumlle, who offer themselves for re-election. Two auditors 1 will have to be appointed by the meeting, and their remuneration voted. The Rervices of the former auditors, Messrs. J. S. McKellar and C. F. Foote, will again be available. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, referred io the prosperous condition of the society. Mr. C. IT. Weston seconded the motion, which was carried.

On the motion of Mr. Hughes, seconded by M-. Bellringer, the retiring directors were re-elected. On the motion of Messrs. Bellrincer and Mills, Messrs. J. >S. McKellar and | C. F. Foote were re-appointed auditors at the usual remuneration. Votes of thanks were passed to the directors (to whom the usual honorarium was granted), and to the secretary and auditors. . At a subsequent meeting of the directors Mr. J. B. Connett was re-appointed chairman.
