STAMPS FOR THE EMPIRE.
A PROPOSAL DROPPED. By Cable—Press Aseociation—Copyright Received 30, 11.15 p.m. London, May 30. The Scotsman states that Mr. Herbert Samuel (Postmaster-General) has decided not to proceed with a uniform design for stamps for the Empire. Mr. Fisher, Sir Joseph Ward and Sir Wilfrid Laurier intimated that the proposal would not be favorably received in the dominions. Mr. Samuel intends to extend the Imperial postal order system to Australia and Canada.
