A case of an operation of an unusual nature which resulted in the savingfof the life of a child, has been recorded at Thames. A week ago a five-year-old WW the son of Mr. Hanson, inhaled a who* peanut which lodged in the base of the lung. Inflammation was caused and pneumonia followed. Dr. Walsh was called in, and realising that the removal of the foreign matter from the lune was essential if the child's life was to ft. saved, advised that Dr. Hardie Neil, tjf Auckland, should be summoned".
