The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report: We held our fortnightly cattle sale on Tuesday last in our Stratford yards. The yarding exceeded the advertised numbers, there being 753 head of cattle and 24 ewes yarded, of whicli 447 head of cattle and the ewes were sold. Prices were much firmer for good weaners and good forward dairy cows, both of which met with keen competition from numer- . ous buyers, while store steers were neglected, and backward store cows were' not in as good demand as lately, although those yarded were disposed of at full market value.
