DELICIOUS CAKES. Eaisin Cake.—Cream together one and one-half tablespoons of lard or butter and three tablespoons of sugar. Then add one egg, one cup sweet milk, one quarter teaspoon salt, two cups flour, three teaspoons baking powder, one-half cup small raisins; put in good-sized pan, pour incited butter over the top, sprinkle with suga and cinnamon and bake iu a moderato oven. dinger Cake.—Sift three-quarters of a pound of flour into a basin; add one cupful of chopped walnuts, one-half teaspoonful of salt, one-half teaspoonful of soda, one tablespoonful of ground ginsrer, one teaspoonful of cinamon, and a little grated nutmeg. Melt together in a saucepan one cupful of molasses, four tablespoonfuls of butter, one-half cupful of milk. Let cool and add the dry ingredients with two well-beaten eggs. Mix well, then pour into a buttered and floured cake tin; bake in a moderate oven three-quarters of an hour. And serve Dragon Brand tea, the best tea that was ever put into a teapot in New Zealand.
