The capital was in the hands of the mob last night. A riot was started by the rumor that President Diaz would not resign. Seven persons Were killed. A mob shouting "Viva Madero!" assembled in the main streets in a state of anger because President Diaz had not resigned. A troop of police charged them, killing several and wounding many. President Diaz is sick with fever. THE PRESIDENT RESIGNS. Received 27, 1 a.m. Mexico City, May 26. President Diaz has resigned, as also has Vice-President Corral.
