MINING.
TELLURIDES PROPRIETARY LTD. Following is a eopv of the mine manager's report for the fortnight endimr 20th May, 1011
.Gordon.—The main crosscut leading from the Welcome .Tack lode forward to intersect Corbett's Reef has been advanced 39 feet, leaving a further distance of 328 feet to he driven to intersect Corbett's Reef. There is no change ill the nature of the country through which we are passing, it being still very tight. T found it necessary to make some repairs to the timber shute during the past fortnight, and in consequence the level was not in operation for 24 hours.
Volunteer.—The eastern crosscut in this section has been advanced 17 feet since my last report, making a total distance driven jn this direction of 104 feet. The country is of a most favorable class, 'with numerous silica and mineral veins interlacing the channel of andesite, which may be the forerunner of a quartz lode.
