Taranaki Rifles, and Eltham Rifles. The highest individual score was compiled by Pvt. Arnold, who totalled 101, closely followed by Sergt. Oliver and Corp, Bruce with 100 each. Three possibles were recorded, one each by Sergt. Oliver, Pvt. Arnold, and Pvt. fioodacre. At 200 yards the Guards had a lead of six points, which Rifles reduced to two at 500 yards, but at the longer range Guards asserted their superiority, coming out on top with a lead of eleven points. This makes the third successive occasion on which Guards have annexed the coveted shield. This was the last occasion on which eight members of the Guards team will help their old corps, but it is hoped that they will still follow the sport as rifle club men in the near future.
