AN ENGINEER KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. MeCormack, chief engineer of the st.eamer Manapouri, fell down the steamer's hold while she was at Suva on May 4, It is surmised that he tripped and fell from the deck, a distance of 18ft. He was removed in an unconscious state to the hospital and died without having regained his senses. OLD MAN'S DEATH. Nelson, Last Night. William Orsman, aged 85, one of the oldest residents of the city, was found, dead in a stable on his premises to-day. Death is presumed to be due to heart disease. A JOCKEY INJURED. Wanganui, Last Night. Abbott, rider of Clemain in the Rata Hack Hurdles, had his collar-bone broken at the races to-day. BODY OF MISSING WOMAN FOUND. Wanganui, Last Night. The body of Mrs. Melville, who had been missing since Saturday, was found in the river this afternoon. ■ I
