Miss Jensen, who has been a most efficient and energetic assistant at social function in the town, was tendered a farewell by her friends in the Clifton Hall on Tuesday evening. There was a very large number present., and a most enjoyable evening was spent in dancing, etc. During an interval, Mr. G. E. Limmer, on behalf of the Ivy Assemblies, of Which Miss Jensen had been a member since their formation some three or four years ago, asked the guest's acceptance of a silver trinket box as a memento of the great assistance Miss Jensen had been. Mr.. Limmer also, on behalf of those present, handed to Miss Jensen a silver-backed comb and brush and silver hat-pin stand. On behalf of the recipient, Mr. F. .1. Brabant returned thanks. Miss Jensen is removing to Auckland. There was a short sitting ef the S.M. Court to-day before Mr. 11. S. Fitzherbert, S.M, Mrs. M. A. Oovenlock claimed £sl las Od, unpaid judgment in a claim against a native named Enaru Kketone, who did not appear. Judgment was given for the amount with costs against, defendant. C. N. Rowe sued J. Coleman for ' £6 18s Id, balance of an account alleged j due. Defendant counter-claimed for the sum of £3 and paid into Court £3 fls 2d in satisfaction of tke debt. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £1 12s, in addition to the amount paid into Court, defendant being allowed £2 8s on his counter-claim. Mrs. D. McGuinness, after placing her son at college at Nelson, intends to first pay a visit to her parents in Christchurch and then take a prolonged holiday trip to Sydney with her sister.
