Lewis went to a newspaper office, caused the native newsboys to be paraded, identified one accused as having made indecent overtures to his girls, marched the native to a vacant plot of ground behind the oftice, shot him dead, and surrcdered to the police. He was charged witli murder and released on £3OOO bail. Public opinion is entirely favorable to him.
