THE HIGH SCHOOL.

To the Editor. Sir,—ln reference to the recent High School criticism, does it not seem 81range that, the criticism of the public is aimed at a member of the teaching staff? The public may be deemed to have something to do'with the board, although that board is nominative and not elective, but the stall is not amenable to the public in any way. Here is a public school,'existing in the main on public money, but controlled by a board which is not elected bv or responsible to the public in any 'way.
