Despite cold foggy mornings large numbers have turned out to watch train-) injr operations, but matters have been deadly dull at headquarters, and the jumping indulged in has been for the most part very poor. Prosser's team work early, but the majority do not put in an appearance until after eight o'clock. Kuku and Torbelle have been asked to do very little, and the former's jumping has been wretched.

Zante has shown the best track form so far, and is jumping like a stag. The Tnramiki prad is daily gaining more friends for the big country events here, and is sure to strip very'flt. Eldorado and First Barrel have been companions in several gallops, but theii jumping was slow and uncertain. The first-named horse is looking well. Far better has been the form shown by Te Arai, and his fencing leaves nothing to be desired. Frank Lind has been riding him in his work, and even with a big weight tn carry, he will have to be reckoned with on Wednesday. Wimmera is likely to start "a warm order in the Century Hurdles, but so far has done no jumping. In company with] Cheddar last year's Century winner' rattled off six furlongs fast on Sunday,' the pair finishing up strongly. The Highden team, consisting of Boanerges, Nyland, Kilosteri and a two. year-old by Soult, arrived last week, and have only done slow work. Boanerges appears to be quite sound again. Appin is jumping well, and amongst the others to do strong work are Sir Tristram, Faunas, Eurus and a number of others.
